I designed a preliminary 5 story building from load calculations to reinforced concrete member– T-beams, columns, and slabs. The design was based on code according to ACI-318 guidelines as well as kinematic principles. Calculations were completed by hand and tabulated in excel, while utilizing shear/moment diagrams
Design Elements
The quoted cornice wrapping the building and the window plates with the Chaminade emblem.
A close-up of the front entrance that shows the column detail at the front door with a glass covering to provide shade from the harsh New York winter months.
The ornate frame around the cross pulls focus to the Marian tradition of the school with spotlights to further highlight this beautiful art piece during the night.
