One Island Fund
The One Island Fund was a GoFundMe started by a few high school classmates and I to raise money and buy PPE directly from manufacturers to aid first responders. After raising over $4000, we worked alongside manufacturers from Pennsylvania to China to acquire 15,000 masks, 240 canisters of hand sanitizer, 20 gallons of liquid disinfectant, and 5 standing hand sanitizer dispensers children’s hospitals and elderly care centers.

"I am a Chaminade alum, class of 1969. I'm always happy to see Chaminade boys being a force for good. Go Flyers!"
Not a One Hit Wonder
One Island meant to encompass the unit strength and vibrant youth that teenagers could bring when they work together for good. That guiding principle was the driving force for these other projects.
Salvation Army Food Drive
Whether hand delivering flyers on bikes around the neighborhood or spreading the word online, we worked to collect non-perishable items for the local food bank, raising over 350 items in total.
Local Beach Clean Up
An unfortunate effect of single-use PPE was its impact on the environment; this is why I organized a local beach clean up, where we found items from simple PPE all the way to couch cushions.
Nursing Home Christmas Card Drive
In a time of great isolation, the elderly in nursing home suffered most because visitors were unable to come see their loved ones, especially during the holidays when relatives would normally visit. The Christmas Card Drive was organized to show there were still people thinking about the elders even in trying times.
